About Us
1974 - founded
John Woofter, the current YMCA director, introduced the United States Wrestling Federation (USWF) to McPherson. Rick Trease was appointed as the first President and Coach.
1988 - 2024
Lance Engel took on the role of Club Director and remains in this position as of 2024. Originally starting with just 13 members, the Club now serves over 100 kids each year. In 1990, the Club held its inaugural tournament, which eventually expanded into hosting Districts at the high school for many years. In 2006, Lennie Engel organized the Club’s first girls’ tournament for the United States Girls Wrestling Association. Today, the Club continues to thrive, dedicated to helping young kids grow into strong and mentally tough individuals.
